Rights & Permissions
Thank you for your interest in using work published by Blue Oak Press. Over the years, our author’s work has found thousands of interesting homes in:
- anthologies and student packets
- newspapers, magazines, and journals
- plays, screenplays, and musical compositions
- television, radio, and the internet
All uses require appropriate acknowledgement; some uses require payment. If you have any questions as to whether your proposed use of Blue Oak Press writing is subject to existing copyright restrictions and/or payment, please contact us at blueoakpress@media.
We encourage certain personal uses—such posting a short story, excerpt from fiction or non-fiction books, a stanza or two on your blog or Facebook page. These uses do not require specific permission or payment. We do ask that the use be appropriately acknowledged by including the title, authors name, and a link to the book.
To protect copyright and to ensure that our poets are paid for re-publication and dissemination of their work, we require a Permissions Contract to stipulate and validate the terms and conditions of use. Uses that require payment usually involve commerce, such as:
- books and ebooks
- student packets
If you have a professional use, please fill out and submit the appropriate permission request form, which you will find links to on this page. Charges vary depending upon use.
